Small American town with old roots
Quincy was settled in 1830 by Horace Wilson, who built the first log cabin here.
Six years later, the township split from a nearby Coldwater Township to the west, & they needed a new name
A Dr. Hiram Allen suggested the name Quincy, after his home town in Massachusetts.
The area was incorporated as a village in 1858
